Carriers Love iTunes Phone, says Moto CEO

Motorola CEO Ed Zander told reporters there was “no resistance” from carriers to the company’s iTunes phone, contradicting (eminently believable) earlier reports that carriers were balking at selling the devices since it cut them out of the revenue loop.

“I don’t know where these rumors got started,” Zander is quoted as saying in the Chicago Tribune. “When we did this deal last year, we knew exactly what carriers were interested in,” he added, reiterating the phone would be out in July.

Zander also told reporters he had one of the phones with him, but wouldn’t show it to them (neener neener?), saying he’d been playing with it for a few weeks and “loved” it. Not that you’d expect him to say anything different, of course, but will music-loving teenagers see things the same way?
