“In a couple of years, most of the information you share, most of the advertising you read, most of the messages you send, most of the music you listen to will transit through your cell phone,” he states confidently.
Maurice Levy, the CEO of Publicis talking in an Independent interview, via Big Picture Advertising. Note I have not linked to the Indie article because it’s behind a subscription wall. Shame – it would have made a nice sampling campaign for them. And it would be interesting to see how many people will actually pay ¬£1 to see this. Not that many, I’d suggest.
I have two comments on Monsieur Levy’s quote.
If he believes this, where’s the evidence that they’re walking the walk as far as mobile is concerned?
Secondly, while he’s clearly right, I’m not so sure about the “couple of years” prediction. Reminds me of a quote from Big Bill himself:
“We always overestimate the change that will occur in the next two years and underestimate the change that will occur in the next ten.” Bill Gates.
