The iPhone Cometh, European Edition

iphone.jpgA T-Mobile shop in Cologne will be the first place users can officially buy an iPhone in Europe when it opens at 12:01am Friday. Those nice T-Mobile folks will provide “food and drink, as well as the necessary shelter from the midnight cold.”

Meanwhile, British iPhone fiends will have to wait until 6:02pm to get their mitts on the device. I guess they’re doing it at 6:02, and not 6 sharp, because it’s being release on O2. How clever.

In any case, it will be interesting to see what kind of reception the iPhone gets in Europe, given a little bit of the hype (just a leetle) has died down, but also since its specs really aren’t all that great in comparison to plenty of handsets widely available in the market there.
