I recently switched the Messaging app to save messages to the memory card and I noticed a significant decrease in the speed of the app. I have the Podcasting application set to use the memory card, but I'll change it and check. Are you using phone memory or removable memory? if you are using removable memory what brand are you using? I know some brands are slower than others. I have no issues with the Podcasting on my N82 downloading via EDGE or WiFi (though obviously EDGE takes a bit longer).
