I found The Wall Street Journal’s implication that Sprint’s mobile download service was a failure a bit hasty, but, to be fair, the reviews haven’t been too positive, with most of them focusing on the aspect I highlighted when the carrier announced the service: its cost.
Another review is in, and it, too, points out the price as the biggest stumbling block. Also, not only are the songs $2.50 a pop, but they can’t be used as ringtones, forcing users to pay another $2.50 should they want to hear a song when somebody calls, a nice touch.
