Pretty dramatic footage here on NBC¬†of an Israeli missile strike on a building¬†in Lebanon, captured on a mobile phone. The guy was filming in the area anyway and suddenly…whoosh, bang, blinding light.¬†
We’re seeing witness news gathering more and more these days and its an implacable trend. The fact is that there’s far more potential to capture real-time news via the ubiquitous mobile phone than by a professional news camera just happening to be in the right place at the right time.
Hamza Mukaddem was blown into the air “like Tom & Jerry” as he said, somewhat insouciantly, but was uninjured.
